Late Work....

Due to my crazy week in Miami attending Ultra Music Festival, I forgot to completely finish my Wise Midterm project. Therefore it is going to be turned in late. Hopefully I wont get to many points deducted because I worked really hard on it! Its so crazy that I am going to graduate High School in less than 2 months!

Good or Bad Business Decision?...

Although this has nothing to do with my wise project this is something I wanted to touch on. Ultra Music Festival starts on Friday and carries out through the weekend. UMF is located at Bicentennial Park right next to the American Airlines Arena where the Miami Heat play. UMF brings over 50,000 people from around the world. Thus, Biscayne Bay is completely shut down for the weekend. Causing fans who come to see the Heat leave a recommended 3 hours earlier than normal!

So the question is was this a good or bad decision on part of the NBA? Yes less fans will be attending due to the other festivities, however it opens up the opportunity for international fans to experience the NBA.

Mid Term stress....

I am about 50% done with our midterm project. I choose to do a slide show of pictures showing my recent experiences on the road to be an MMA fighter. Ultra Music Festival is this weekend so I wont have any time to work on my project until Monday!!! Thankfully I wont be going to school so I will have time to finish it. Besides that nothing else is new. I continue to learn more about the business aspect of the UFC and how to become successful.

Hooiser Daddy!!!!.....

I have officially decided that I will be attending Indiana University for the Fall of 2011! I am very excited and I of course found a place to train. If the college has no MMA academies, I am not going! I also emailed the wrestling coach about coming in as a walk on. Wrestling get you in the greatest condition of your life! I will support the crimson and cream with pride! I look forward to my progression as I evolve into a complete Mixed Martial Artist as I embarked on a life changing journey.

205 Days...

In 205 days I officially turn 18. On that day I can finally plan my long awaited MMA debut. I am not nervous I am confident. People may look at it as being conceded but when you have the goods to back it up, its confidence.

As for my Wise Experience, nothing new has gone on today. I trained from 7-9:45 but thats about it. I continue to strive for my goal in everything I do.

Envy....

I envy my dad right now. He got to spend the entire week with professional fighters from all around the world ( including current UFC middleweight champion Anderson " the Spider " Silva). My uncle is a professional body builder and he travels the US going to competitions and things of that nature. Ironically the sports of MMA, Bodybuilding, Fitness shows and etc tend to travel together and they produce a week full of events in the same are. My dad stayed in a hotel with some of my idols and he got to talk to them! Next time he goes to one of these things I am 100% going!

As for my Wise Experience, all is well and I continue to find out more about the UFC and the Mixed Martial Arts world in general. I still on a steady training pace for my first fight!

Make up Work....

Today was a very unproductive day as far as my MMA training goes. I did nothing physical at all. No gym, training, and not even basketball! However, I have managed to catch myself up in my WISE make-up work so that is a good thing. I also still have not found my new mentor! :( I had recently asked coach love ( female) and she is already mentoring another student. Im going in to talk to Mr. canizzarro tomorrow. Maybe he can be the lucky candidate!

Never Again!....

I vow to not eat fast food for as long as possible after today. I have been training for over four years now and not once have a ever thrown up after a session. Well tonight, that all changed. I sprinted to the bathroom and let out a furry of the chicken sandwich I had from Wendy's earlier before. EW!!!

As for my Wise project, I have created a layout for the blog I am going to post on Facebook following UFC 127 this Saturday. Again, this blog will contain my opinion of the top 10 pound for pound best fighters in the UFC.

Is New York blind?....

Would you like 23 million dollars annually? I know I would. And that is was the state of NY would receive if they finally opened their eyes and sanctioned MMA events. Such a high profile sports state, ( knicks, yankees, jets, giants) you would think that they would have open arms to the world of Mixed Martial Arts. Apparently, that is not so.

Today I am going to work at Sagemont Elementary School for a few hours teaching Jiu- Jitsu. Then at 6 I am gonna get a good hour of training in. And I am going to finish of the night watching the Heat beat the Kings :)

Mentor Meltdown...

Finally getting some time to relax now after a seven hour drive back from Tallahassee. It was everything I expected and more!

As for my WISE project, there has been some positives and negatives over the past few days. Sadly my mentor and I have split :( now I am in search for a new one! On the positive side I have come up with an idea that is going to help my project. I am going to create a blog on facebook called " phil's pound for pound". It is going to be my personal opinion on the UFC's ( ultimate fighting championship) best pound for pound fighters ranked 1-10. People who are interested in the UFC will benefit from my knowledge.

Tally Bound....

I just finished packing for my trip to tally this weekend. I am very exciting to tour my future campus (possibly).

As for my wise project, I had a meeting with my clothing sponsor today. I was told about a new line a clothing that is coming out! Very exciting! Im starting to learn that if I surround myself with individuals who have a drive to succeed it tends to rub of one another. Besides that not much was accomplished. A New Beginning.....

Today I finally finished planning my trip to tally this weekend!! FSU might be my future college. I had a sub in my second and third hour today so it was just another easy senior schedule day. I do not understand how parents expect us to go to school when teachers do not even show up!

As for my WISE project, I trained at my academy today for two hours. Im also looking more into why New York won't sanction MMA events even though it would create massive amounts of revenues and hundreds of new jobs. Well thats all for today.
